Blue
Screen of Death:
Just about all of us at some point have
experienced the dreaded "blue screen of death".
Below is an image of this screen for those of
you who have no idea what I am talking about.
What
causes this error and how do I fix the problem?
To answer the many questions about the "blue
screen of death" we have chosen to dedicate a
whole page on it.
This screen will show up on your computer and
make it impossible to go back to your desktop
and save any files that you were working on. In
fact the only way that you can make this screen
go away is by restarting the computer. If all
you do is restart the computer you may have
fixed the issue temporarily but the problem
still is lurking in your pc.
The reason this screen comes up is due to a
section of code that is makes up Windows.
Different code when used at the wrong time and
under certain circumstances will cause a
malfunction in the operating system. One of the
key issues with this error originated with the
printer drivers. Printer drivers have always
loaded at the kernel level of the operating
system. So when you add a new printer or make
changes it is changing the structure of the root
files.
Fortunately all this is about to change,
Microsoft is releasing a new version of Windows
it is called Vista™ also known as WinVI.
