Wireless:
We all knew it would happen eventually. Wireless technology has taken the world by storm. Cell phones today make James. T. Kirk's communicator look like one of those clunky car phones in the wicker baskets at local thrift stores.
Finally, we are taking wireless technology beyond cellphones and into the realm of the internet. Wireless internet is getting cheaper and cheaper these days. It's also not rocket science.
A laptop with a wireless ethernet card can log on to free wireless internet in many coffee shops. If your laptop is configured correctly, many times all you have to do is order your coffee, sit down and enter some login information and you're there.
Wireless internet allows you to do things beyond what normal internet service will. A wireless network powered by cable or DSL will let you pack your laptop through the house or your business but wireless internet will let you pack your laptop to the park or even on vacation.
You just can't beat the mobility and some of the more popular wireless internet providers are offering prices comparable and even sometimes beating that of their DSL counterparts.
Setting up wireless internet in Windows XP is usually fairly simple. While hardware and software setups can differ wildly, many times all that is needed is simply plugging the modem into the computer via ethernet cable and entering a username and password.
If advanced setup is needed just refer to your ISP's instructions or take advantage of their support number.
